Maupin, Cox & LeGoy A Professional Corporation

Maupin, Cox & LeGoy was founded in 1972 by Steven T. Walther and Jon J. Key under the firm name of Walther & Key. Ernest J. Maupin joined the firm in 1973, and the name of the firm and its members have evolved since then. Mr. Walther retired from the firm in January, 2006, following his appointment to the Federal Election Commission. Mr. Key is retired but remains of counsel to the firm. The firm handles complex civil disputes, including mediation, arbitration and litigation. The firm has an extensive trust, estate, and tax practice and handles all phases of tax matters, including corporate tax, federal income, estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer tax matters, and tax litigation. The firm also handles corporate, public finance, real property, health care, employment, civil rights defense, and educational law matters, including representation of institutional and governmental entities. The firm is active in the community. The members of the firm actively participate in continuing legal education programs, professional association activities, pro bono programs, and civic affairs.
